Between the two cities

Midrand is 36 km from our Pretoria base, inside our 50 km service area, so travel is included. Conference venues are the Midrand pattern: long days in a hall, with breaks that need somewhere to go. The trailer sets up outside the hall on 8m × 6m of level ground, or inside where the venue confirms 3m × 2.8m of access and 3.5m of headroom, and brings its own power either way. Waterfall is a managed precinct and Kyalami has race weekend restrictions, so the delivery window is agreed first.

A TWO DAY CONFERENCE

Two days, one board.

Midrand sits between Johannesburg and Pretoria, with Gallagher Convention Centre, Waterfall City and Mall of Africa, Kyalami Country Club and the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit, and a Gautrain station of its own. This is how a conference runs with a golf bay outside the hall.

  1. Day one: the trailer arrives and opens in about 30 minutes, outside the hall on 8m × 6m of level ground, or inside where the venue confirms 3m × 2.8m of access and 3.5m of headroom.
  2. At tea and lunch, delegates play one to four at a time, five to ten minutes a round, while the live board runs on their phones and on any screen at the venue.
  3. Overnight the trailer stays on site and is secured, and James returns each morning to run it.
  4. Day two: the same board carries on, so the leaders from day one have something to defend.
  5. At the close James calls the winners, and you get a ranked results sheet.

From two consecutive days a booking is quoted as one multi day hire, not day by day.

Can we do events at Kyalami Country Club?

Yes, with the club's sign off on the spot. A practice green area or a lawn beside the course is the natural choice, and James confirms it with the venue coordinator before the date.

Can you set up at a Waterfall City office?

Yes, once the building signs off. Waterfall's precinct rules govern the delivery window and the bay; after that the trailer needs 8m × 6m of firm, level ground, a route in at least 3m wide with 2.8m of clearance, and 3.5m clear overhead where the roof goes up. The two heights are different on purpose: 2.8m gets it through the boom, 3.5m is what the roof needs once it goes up.

Can the trailer stay overnight for a two day conference?

Yes. Multi day bookings are quoted as one, the trailer stays on site and is secured each night, and James returns each morning to run it.

Can it run outdoors at a Midrand conference venue?

Yes, that is what it is built for: 8m × 6m of level ground outside the hall, its own roof over the bay and its own power, so it needs nothing from the venue’s supply and light rain does not stop play.

Can it run beside a conference?

Yes. It gives delegates somewhere to go at tea and lunch, and a longest drive board that runs across both days. See team building for formats that work with a programme.

Do you need power at the venue?

No venue power needed. The trailer carries four solar panels, a 5 kVA inverter and a battery bank: if there is a plug within 20 m we use it, and if not the bay runs on its own, so load shedding changes nothing.
